Public and Private High School Students

Welcome to our Dual Enrollment Program, an affordable way for high school students to earn college credits while completing their education. This program allows you to take college-level courses, giving you a head start on your academic journey and enhancing your readiness for higher education. With reduced tuition rates, college becomes more accessible, allowing you to explore diverse subjects and fulfill high school requirements. This opportunity is for motivated juniors and seniors ready to challenge themselves. Our dedicated faculty and advisors are here to support you throughout your experience.

Thank you for your interest in Dual Enrollment at FGC!

Eligibility Criteria for Students:

  • Enrolled as a student in a Florida public or nonpublic secondary school (grades 6-12).
  • A minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.0 for college credit courses.
    • A minimum unweighted GPA of 2.0 for career dual enrollment courses.
  • Achieve a minimum score on standard placement tests for college credit courses, as outlined in Rule 6A-14.064, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.).
  • Meet any additional eligibility criteria specified by the postsecondary institution in the Dual Enrollment Articulation Agreement.
    • Cannot be scheduled to graduate before completing the dual enrollment course.
  • Any additional eligibility requirements or limits on dual enrollment participation based on grade levels must ensure college readiness.
  • Requirements should not arbitrarily prohibit students who have demonstrated the ability to master advanced courses from participating.
  • Schedule an appointment with your guidance counselor to assess your eligibility. Your counselor will help you understand the requirements, including:
    • A minimum high school GPA of 3.0
    • College-level placement test scores in Reading, English, and Math.
  • Attend Dual Enrollment meetings if required by your high school.
  • Take the PERT placement test at your high school.
    • A.C.T. or S.A.T. scores may also be used to meet placement requirements.

Once your high school approves you to take FGC classes, complete the FGC Application for Dual Enrollment / Early College and submit it on or before the semester admission deadline.
