LAKE CITY, Fla. – On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, the students, employees, and community of Florida Gateway College will gather to celebrate the FGC Women’s Flag Football Team as they head to Chicago for the 2026 NJCAA Women’s Flag Football National Championship, hosted by College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
The team will depart the college Tuesday morning on their way to Chicago to defend their title as three-time NJCAA National Champions. Competition in the 2026 Championship Tournament will begin with pool play on Thursday followed by bracket play starting Friday. The Championship Final is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at College of DuPage’s Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium.
The Championship Tournament caps off a year that saw the Timberwolves go 15-1 in regular-season play and defeat conference rival Daytona State College for the 2026 Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) State Championship.
FGC has dominated NJCAA Women’s Flag Football since the team’s inaugural season in 2022-23 and aims to claim their fourth-consecutive national championship, remaining the only team to win the trophy since its inception in 2023. Led by Head Coach Ricky Hufty and Assistant Coach Nicole Callum, the Wolves hope to return home Sunday, May 10, with yet another national title.
