LAKE CITY, Fla. – Florida Gateway College officially opened the Grace & Al Harter Center for Innovation on Wednesday, October 21, welcoming the community to be among the first to step inside.
The new building represents the next step in FGC’s mission to continue building and growing state-of-the-art STEM education programs and facilities. Modern simulation labs allow nursing students to train on real equipment and lifelike patient simulators, working through real-world problems and scenarios like those they will encounter in hospital and clinical settings.
Attendees walked through the building, toured the new simulation spaces, and heard from college leaders and community partners about the future of FGC Nursing.
FGC President Dr. Lawrence Barrett was joined by FGC academic leadership, the Foundation for FGC, community and industry partners, donors, and members of the Harter family to mark the official dedication of the new center.
