KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Florida Gateway College Women’s Flag Football have won their third consecutive NJCAA Women’s Flag Football National Championship.
The 2025 Championship Tournament culminated Thursday, May 8, in an 11 a.m. CDT final showdown between the Timberwolves of FGC and their conference rival Falcons of Daytona State College. After a week of dominating performance in pool play and a 67-0 victory over Pratt Community College in Wednesday’s semifinal, the Wolves retained the national title and made history once again with a 68-13 win over Daytona State.
“It’s incredible to see these talented and driven student-athletes become three-time national champions,” said FGC President Dr. Lawrence Barrett after the tournament final. “These young women continue to have incredible success on the field and in the classroom, and they make everyone at FGC proud.”
Tremesha Harris was awarded Most Valuable Player of the Tournament and Head Coach Ricky Hufty was named NJCAA Flag Football Coach of the Year for the third year in a row.
The history-making three-peat wraps up an incredible third season for the Timberwolves that saw them finish 18-3 overall and undefeated both at home and in the conference. FGC’s third NJCAA Championship continues the Timberwolves’ dominance of the sport on a national level and maintains their position as the only team to ever hold the title since its 2023 inception.
