LAKE CITY, Fla. – USA Football has selected Florida Gateway College student-athletes Alex Harris and London Jenkins as Women's Flag Football U.S. National Team initial 18-player roster members. FGC sophomore Harris (#1) and freshman Jenkins (#3) were chosen from a preliminary pool of 60 players from across the country at the National Team trials held in March in Charlotte, North Carolina.

From May 15-18, Harris and Jenkins will join the other 16 selected athletes at a training camp at the United States Performance Center on the University of North Carolina campus. The final 12 players will be selected there, with the remaining six serving as alternates. If they make the final cut, they will join the defending world champion women's U.S. National Team in international competition, including at the World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China. Making the final roster would also put them on track for a potential appearance in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, where the sport will make its Olympic debut.

“I am so incredibly proud of Alex and London being selected for the U.S Women's National Team,” FGC Head Coach Ricky Hufty said. “This is a really special and impressive honor as they are each 1 of 18 from the whole country selected to be part of this team.

“Their relentless work ethic and character has shown throughout this process and is even more impressive to me than their ability on a flag football field. They are both the type of people you pull for, and I cannot think of two more deserving people than them to be able to have this experience. They earned it, and we are all so proud of them.”

Harris is in her second year playing for the two-time NJCAA National Champion FGC Timberwolves, and Jenkins is in her first. The Wolves' next home match-up will be against Daytona State College on April 9. They are making their way to a third consecutive national tournament in Kansas City, Missouri, in May.
