LAKE CITY, Fla. – The Florida Gateway College community is saddened by the passing of Dr. Charles “Chuck” Hall, Ed.D., former president of FGC and dedicated supporter of the college and its students.
Dr. Hall served as president of FGC from July 20, 1997, to June 30, 2015, leading the college with a commitment to providing superior educational opportunities, creating a nurturing learning environment, and enriching the lives of FGC students. Among many other achievements, he led the expansion of FGC baccalaureate programs, directed the construction of the Wilson S. Rivers Library & Media Center, and initiated the opening of "The Hall" Student Activities Center, which bears his name in his honor.

In 2015, he was inducted into the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) Hall of Fame and, in 2017, was awarded the FCSAA Distinguished Service Award, the organization’s highest honor.
After his retirement in 2015, Dr. Hall remained an active member of the community and advocate for FGC. In 2017, the Foundation for Florida Gateway College awarded him and his wife, Dr. Robin Hall, the Distinguished Friends of the Foundation Award for their ongoing support of FGC, its mission, and the students it serves.
The administration, faculty, and staff of Florida Gateway College offer our deepest thoughts and condolences to Dr. Chuck Hall's family, friends, and loved ones and to all those who knew him.
