Program Requirements

Program application

To complete the requirements for the PTA program, please follow these steps:

1. Complete the TEAS Entrance Exam: Achieve a score of 58.7% or higher in both Science and Reading Comprehension sections.

2. Finish Prerequisite Courses: Obtain a grade of 'C' or better in all prerequisite courses, and maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 in those courses.

3. Submit an Application to Florida Gateway College: This step is necessary if you are not already a student at FGC.

4. Submit the Supplemental PTA Application Packet: Make sure to include all required documents by the specified deadline.

5. Provide a Signed Drug Screen and Background Check Policy: This document must be submitted as part of your application process.

6. Complete Observation Hours: You must complete a minimum of 50 observation hours, with at least 25 hours in an inpatient setting and 25 hours in an outpatient setting.

7. Submit a Completed Student Interview Form: This form can be found under the “For More Information About the PTA, AS” section in the Application Booklet.

8. Provide Professional Recommendations: Submit at least two (2) professional recommendation letters.

Testing Requirements
