Three teams of anglers from the Florida Gateway College Bass Fishing Team have qualified to compete in the Strike King Bassmaster College National Championship Presented by Bass Pro Shops beginning Friday, September 2.

The FGC Bass Fishing Team is currently ranked No. 1 in the Southeastern Conference and is in the lead to be awarded School of the Year on the Abu Garcia College Fishing Circuit.

“The Strike King Bassmaster College National Championship Presented by Bass Pro Shops is the most prestigious college national championship,” said FGC Coach Glenn Cale. “We are extremely proud of these student angler athletes for their hard work to balance school work and fishing a tough schedule.”

Qualifying FGC Teams:

                  Chase Hubble (Alum) & Brent May (Alum)

                  Bryson O’Steen (Sophomore) & Zack Barrera (Alum)

                  Seth Slanker (Sophomore) & Jackson Swisher (Sophomore)

Only 130 teams from colleges and universities across the country qualified to fish the event, which will be held at Winyah Bay in Georgetown, South Carolina, September 2-4.
